FAQs

The first Marine Protection Film specifically designed for a marine environment. Our material has been lab tested in a wet and extreme UV environment. Built to last. Able to withstand the harshest of elements, Yacht Armor provides a trusted solution for oxidation, fish blood, scuffs, swirls, marring and light scratches.

Yacht Armor will last 5- 7 years with proper maintenance and care.

Yacht Armor protection films typically last 5 to 7 years, depending on factors like:

  1. Environment: Constant exposure to harsh UV rays, saltwater, or extreme weather can affect the film's lifespan.
  2. Maintenance: Regular cleaning and proper care will help maximize its durability.
  3. Application Quality:Using a Certified Installer ensures better adhesion and protection, leading to longer-lasting results.
  4. Usage: Boats exposed to heavy-duty activities or frequent use may experience more wear and tear on the film. (ex. Sport-fishing boats doing a ton of bill fishing.)

With proper care, you can expect the film to maintain its protective qualities for years, extending the life and appearance of your yacht’s surface.

The guarantee covers cracking, bubbling, and yellowing of the protection film caused by manufacturing defects for a period of (3) years from the date of initial installation.

Basic wash care and drying is all your new film will need to stay looking brand new! We recommend using our PH neutral soap to wash. This will not hurt the nano coating on the film. Every 1- 3 months and depending on use we recommend you use our SiO2 to keep the film protected and hydrophobic. -Yes! There is nothing wrong with application over defects but a small air pocket may be visible around the defected area (chipped paint). Application will also protect surface from further damage.

At the end of the films life it may be time to replace. Removal is similar to removing a vinyl wrap. You will need a heat gun and it will leave minimal glue behind, but leave the surface fresh and new.

The following are not covered by the Yacht Armor guarantee:

  • Peeling: The warranty does not cover any instances of the film peeling off, as this is typically due to improper installation or maintenance.
  • Scratches or scuffs: Surface damage caused by physical contact, abrasion, or cleaning methods is excluded.
  • Normal wear and tear: Expected degradation over time, including minor blemishes or changes due to environmental exposure, is not considered a defect.
  • Improper maintenance: Damage resulting from using incorrect cleaning tools, chemicals, or techniques is not covered.
  • Collisions or impact damage: Issues arising from external impacts, such as docking accidents, are excluded.
  • Environmental factors: Damage from extreme weather conditions, salt buildup, or UV degradation beyond what is typical for normal use is not included.
